This month we want to encourage you to do something you’ve never done before on Squidoo – and to do it with excellence in mind. Here are four suggestions.
1. Join RocketSquids. Have fewer than 25 lenses? If you’re new around here, or even if you’ve been around Squidoo for a while but your lensmaking has been, well, uninspired, then join RocketSquids. It’s our official boot camp where you’ll receive lessons and tips as well as a lensmaking challenge each week, along with feedback on your lenses, all of which will inspire you to greatness as you learn how to make excellent lenses here on Squidoo.
2. Apply for Giant Squid. Already have 25 excellent lenses? Then it’s time to join our Giant Squid Club. It’s easy to apply, the perks are cool, and once you’re approved you’ll be eligible to participate in IMMINENT! Read all about IMMINENT here. If you need incentive to work towards that Giant Squid milestone, we bet you’ll find it! (Tip: Bet some of you can do both 1 and 2 this month!)
3. Make a truly excellent lens specifically for one of our Squidoo Magazines. Then write a custom bio for your magazine contributor profile page. It’s a great way for people to get to know the crafty/veggie/gifty/cozy side of you.
4. Get involved in the community by exploring our social inlets and outlets. Take time regularly to leave thoughtful comments on lenses that you love. Then pin them, tweet them, or share them on Facebook. Help someone by answering a question on our official forum. Or offer a constructive critique to someone who asks. Build an excellent reputation as an active Squidizen!
We can’t leave without mentioning a few special days to look forward to this month.
March 4th is a great day to begin something new. (March forth, get it?) Set some goals for the month.
March 14th (aka 3.14) is Pi Day. Can you come up with an original way to celebrate this fun day?
March 15th, beware the ides of March! What does that mean? Look it up and make a lens about it.
March 17th, keep your eyes open for rainbows, pots of gold, and leprechauns!
March 30th is “Take a Walk in the Park” day. It’s Saturday so take the day off, enjoy your walk, and prepare for Easter on Sunday.
We hope you have an excellent month.
