Fixed: The Workshop and Internet Explorer 7

collegeman by on Fri, Dec 9th, 2011

First, a big thank you to all of the lensmasters who reported problems using Squidoo with IE 7. Also, thank you for waiting patiently while we found the problem and fixed it. If you use IE 7 for browsing and editing on Squidoo, your experience should now be back to normal.

There’s only one problem with that: normal in IE 7 just ain’t what it used to be.

You see, IE 7 is a fairly out-dated piece of software. While not quite as old as IE 6 (which itself is so old Microsoft no longer supports it), IE 7 is one full version older than the latest IE available for Windows XP users (IE 8), and two versions older than the latest for Windows Vista (IE 9).

If you haven’t tried any of the new breed of Web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and yes, IE 9), you’re in for a treat.

Not only are these browsers more secure, they’re really, really fast. Which browser you choose is completely up to you – Squidoo has no immediate plans for excluding IE 7. But if you are willing to switch, there’s no time like the present! Here’s a great place to start your journey.

Thanks again, and happy holidays!
