The new Amazon workshop editor now supports URL’s

You can now grab a URL off of Amazon.com and paste it into the search box in the workshop editor. When you click “search” the ASIN number shows up and the product will appear for you to add to your product list.

Also Amazon “add-on” product ASIN numbers are working too.

    Thank you. I like the new Amazon Editor, but now you can add a url to get the product that you have already picked from Amazon, great, you have made it so much easier.

    I had problems with the new amazon module – when I put in the keywords it would not yield any results – istead it would put 20% insteat of the spaces between the words – would be great if this was mended!

    I am trying to write a lens now and the Amazon module is not working. When I click the magnifying glass for search it just puts me back to my lens empty. It was working earlier today, is something wrong?

      I’ll chime in. Just finished a lens and had to delete the Amazon module and replace with an alternative. Still some bugs.

        Doesn’t work for me either, no matter what I enter in the box. It simply takes me straight back to the Workshop as it nothing happened. Sent in a bug report, hoping it helps.

    I am having the same issue that whatsittoyou is having with the Amazon, Amazon Personal Spotlight, and Amazon Search modules.
    Something codewise is abending the module.

    I’ve been trying to get the Amazon module to work since this update – just goes back to the lens empty. Sent a bug report. Hoping it will be fixed today!

    Since there is no longer a working Amazon module, I have used a text module and added a picture of the product — linking the picture to the page in Amazon. Question: If I do it that way, is there still a link to my affiliate account???

    OK, I just used it. It works fine if I use the ASIN, but the keyword function isn’t so great. I entered a keyword phrase of 2 words. My product was not among the many options that popped up. And some of the options that did pop up didn’t fit the keyword phrase I entered.

    Ok the Amazon Spotlight module seems to be working again, however I found a problem with it – let’s say we add a product and start writing the description (btw that description editor is way too tiny! Please consider making it larger).

    After adding the content I press Save to get back to the Workshop. Then I notice that the product picture (in my case is a book) is much smaller than that for the other products, which makes the lens look weird. So I go back to change the ASIN (or ISBN) to another product version (e.g. paperback vs Kindle). Now, while I could easily do this in the previous version of the module by simply swapping the ISBN with a new one, here all I can do is Delete the product, which invariably also deletes the Description I added for it. I have to first copy out that text I wrote to a Notepad, and then after adding a new product, paste it back in. Quite cumbersome.

    Can you please give this a thought of changing it around, as it’s not very intuitive as it is right now.

    Oh Beautiful. I could find what I wanted on Amazon. But trying to find it through Squidoo to amazon was giving no results. The copy paste method brought my choices over with no problems. Thank You for this new option with the URL’s.
