This is Teresa, or Tess if you prefer, known as teresa-shatto on Squidoo. She’s very new here but more than excited about it – and you’ll definitely notice that excitement reflected in her lenses! Teresa would love to hear from you, so be sure to read her interview, then visit her lenses and let her know you stopped by.
How did you find Squidoo? Years ago, when I was first getting my feet wet with ecommerce, I began selling odds and ends on eBay. That, led to a small stand-alone website and business but, life eventually led me in different directions and I shut it down. Before I did, I saw some power sellers talking in the forums area of eBay, discussing great ways to get your name out on the internet. Squidoo was tops on their list! I only made a small lens back then and never had much of an opportunity to learn or develop with Squidoo, not with the changes going on in my life. I never forgot it though! What little I did was fun! …and now, now that I have time and I’m (finally) serious about everything and ready to roll up my sleeves and make things happen, I’m just absolutely smitten with Squidoo. Addicted too! Already!
Your first few lens topics range from fitness to food and your bio mentions lots of awesome interests. What can we look forward to reading about next? I’m so glad you don’t mind the variety and thank you! Such creative freedom! I can’t do this with a blog or a typical website…there’d be too many unrelated topics making it confusing and disjointed to readers. Here though, it’s perfect! Next, I’ll be covering Kayaking and including some of the wildlife videos I’ve made while out running (paddling) amok! I think it’s a deep enough area to build a few lenses, in fact. We could do safety, techniques, and so much more!
Yoga is right there behind it with another series of lenses I’ve been plotting covering everything from basic information to workout plans, videos, and news as I develop in my own training and begin officially teaching again. Right now, I’m also forming a local hiking and exploration club which I think would fit in nicely here. Our first official outing will be late Spring and the Devil’s Backbone! I’m so excited! Let’s not forget gardening! We’ll be growing on a massive scale (for us anyway) in 2013 and distributing plants and seeds to help in the efforts to eradicate hunger in our community and adjoining areas. That topic alone has endless possibilities. And THEN… (*grin* I’d better stop here. I do have all kinds of things lined up!)
If you could travel to one place you’ve never been, where would it be and why? Gosh, that’s a hard one! There are so many. In a few years I’ll be going to Rishikesh, India to finish up a block of yoga training that I’ll be starting this January 2013. It’s tops on my list, but does it count since I’ll be doing it professionally? That’s a pretty blatant excuse to slip in more, isn’t it? Sorry! I’m also dying to head to a whole bunch of places in South America including Costa Rica! So many things appeal to me ranging from the people and culture to the kayaking and hiking opportunities, additional yoga training I’ve discovered, and so much more!
What can Squidoo do for you? Squidoo is going to be so helpful in so many ways, that I hope that I’ll be able to adequately give back! First of all and most importantly, this amazing platform will help me connect with others. Already that’s happening and I’ve only been here just a short time. People are what it’s all about, all else is really secondary from my perspective. Communication and expression…sharing my passions… I’m here to mingle and make friends, network, encourage, learn, and hopefully do the same for others too.
Dogs or cats? Ugh! How could you ask me that? *wink/grin* I have three of each! The felines (all rescues and a long story…and oh my gosh, great topics for other lenses!) are masterminds of our household and only tolerate the presense of the three newcomers: The Scummy Bears. The SB’s are two amazing Boxers and my Boxador girl, Shiva, who is leader of the pack. So you see, I can’t choose. If I pick Dogs, my life will be in peril from the Cats and if I pick Cats, not a pair of shoes or socks will survive the wrath of the SB’s. I just can’t, I’m sorry.
