We’re pleased to introduce new lensmaster SofyBelle today. Enjoy our interview:
How did you find Squidoo? I am a stay at home mom and I was wanting to find a way to make a little extra cash for a rainy day. While searching the web, the very first thing that I came across was Squidoo. I looked into it and it seemed like a fun way to write about the things that I love and are passionate about. I also looked into other sites, but I wasn’t at all impressed in any way like I was with Squidoo. All the other sites that I read about had some sort of flaw or hidden catch to it, and I wasn’t about to sign up for something that I had to pay a huge amount for. So, I signed up with Squidoo and here I am and I couldn’t be more happy!
Of the lenses you’ve made so far, which is your favorite and why? It’s hard to say which is my favorite lens out of the ones that I have made because a lot of them have a sentimental story behind them that are close to my heart. If I had to choose one though, it would have to be “How To Make Mini Cakes“. My sister and I had so much fun making the mini cakes for the first time and we laughed and talked the whole way through it. I also just made another batch of them with my daughter a few days ago and made some more special memories. That’s what life is about, having wonderful moments with your loved ones and taking mental snapshots along the way.
What one tip would you give to a new lensmaster starting out? The one tip that I would give a new lensmaster is to be personal, truthful, and passionate about each and every single lens that you write. The more you explain a personal experience that you have had with the particular topic that you have chosen, the more trustworthy you’ll come across to your readers. If you’re passionate about the topic and/or product that you are writing about, the words will flow more freely and you’ll have a lens written in no time. Sorry to reiterate what has been said before, but it is so true and works very well.
