Meet Janet, jntnevins on Squidoo, a lensmaster who joined Squidoo way back in 2009, got distracted due to a family situation but, happily, has found her way back. You’ll see by her lens list that she’s jumped in with both feet and we’re so glad to have her back in the Squidoo pond. Enjoy our interview and Janet’s lenses!
Very glad that you’ve found your way back to Squidoo. Do you remember how you found us in the first place? When my second child was born in 2000, I started trying to find ways to make money online. I searched and searched always running into scam after scam. One day I heard about Squidoo so I signed up. I started a daycare after my third child was a year old and I have been doing that since 2003. I have enjoyed daycare for the last 10 years but I still want to work online. I graduated with an Associates Degree in Web Technologies in 2011 with the hopes of starting a Web Design Business.
Daycare has me working 50 hours a week and exhausted by the end of the week. I started searching online again a few months ago and I rediscovered Squidoo again. I figured since I have been around children for the last 10 years I can help parents make an informed decision about the toys that they buy for their children.
Obviously your experience with children has an impact on your lens topics. Any other hot topics that you have in mind for future lenses? One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is play around in photoshop. I am hoping to help others learn photoshop by making a few lenses about it.
If you could travel to one place you’ve never been, where would it be and why? I would travel to England. When my daughter was 13 she was in a program called People to People and she went to England, Ireland and Wales. She told me alot about England and I would love to go there and see it for myself.
What can Squidoo do for you? I want to hep others make an informed decision about the toys that they buy their children and Squidoo is the perfect way to do that. Because my main job is taking care of children I see what toys really help children in their learning journey in life and which ones dont.
Manicure or massage? I would love a massage.
