A new and improved bio page is coming soon, and we’re upgrading the way your social links will be displayed across your Squidoo lenses and bio page.
To give you a head start, we’ve added the new way to associate your social profiles with your Squidoo one. The social links you’ve previously added to your profile will no longer work when the new bio goes live in a few weeks.
The current bio requires you to copy and paste the links into a text field in your bio settings, like this:
The new version allows you to connect your profiles and showcase your content and follow links for the services you wish to promote on your Squidoo pages. It looks like this:
Our inspiration came from our work on HugDug. You can see how this works here.
We’re including many popular social networks, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+ and more. You get to decide which ones you want to promote. Your lens bio will showcase them, like Corey’s:
Visitors to your bio and pages will be able to click on the social icons to see your recent activity, all from one convenient spot, like this:
How to connect your accounts:
In the next week or so, log in to Squidoo visit your Squidoo settings screen and click on the “Profile” tab in the left menu:
Under “Connected Apps”, click the “Add Apps” button and add the the social accounts you wish to share:
Important: Be sure to leave your social links in place, since they’ll continue to show until the new bio page goes live.
That’s it! We’re excited about the new bio and we know you’ll love it too.
UPDATE – We’re adding new buttons too.
