Welcome September, the month of new beginnings. The kids are going back to school with the promise of a new, productive year ahead and it’s a great time for the rest of us to set goals and start projects. Have you thought about your Squidoo goals for the month ahead?
If you haven’t finished updating your old lenses, streamlining and remodeling them to make them more appealing to a new generation of readers, this is the month to get that job done. There’s a new workshop to make the job easier and we’re all looking forward to the new lens formatting options that will be ready for everyone soon. Make a plan and set a date to finish your updates so you’ll be ready for prime-time shopping (and lensmaking) season, which begins this week (can you believe it??) following a very early Labor Day holiday weekend.
Not sure what to write about in September? Watch for new club and magazine quests, arriving on your dashboard soon (if they’re not there already – have you checked?). Community Lens Quests are added frequently. Check ‘em out! Are you a new lensmaster who’s signed up for RocketSquids? Then you can count on at least one lensmaking assignment every week along with tips to help make learning Squidoo faster and easier.
Still need ideas for new lenses? Don’t overlook the holidays and special events that occur this month. People will be looking for information on Read a Book Day (on the 6th), Fortune Cookie Day (on the 13th), Constitution Day (the 17th), POW/MIA Recognition Day (on the 20th), and National Comic Book Day (the 25th) – so who better than you to make a lens to provide that information for them?
Most importantly, take some time for yourself and have some fun. Enjoy the first football game of the season and the county fair! Rake up a pile of leaves and then jump! If you’re in the southern hemisphere, plant a spring garden! Just don’t forget the camera. We love pictures and you know that whatever you do, lens ideas will sneak into your head. Be ready for them!
