Squid Sightings

Robin Svedi by on Wed, Jun 22nd, 2011

Today I’ll be sharing my second cup of morning coffee with NYfamily5 and ljm63 as part of our ongoing schedule of informal meetings of the Triangle Squids, a little group of Squidoo lensmasters who live in the Triangle area of North Carolina.

We’ll shoot the breeze, talk Squideeze, and most importantly generate lens ideas for each other. It’s always fun and productive.

Through these meetings I’ve also had the pleasure of spending time with Bethd821, Chapelhillfiddler and Lakemom. Have you met any real life Squids? A while back we held an official Squidoo Meet-Up day and I know many of you participated.  Did you keep in touch with anyone afterwards?

Share your stories about recent real life Squidoo meetings here and if you don’t have any, why not make some by finding and meeting up with a fellow Squid or two who swims in your local area?

It’s really a treat to discuss things like lenses, modules, and Giant Squids out-loud without having to explain yourself and I guarantee you’ll come away with some great new lens ideas and a new friend or two… too.

Exciting!  We weren’t able to make a face-to-face a go in WI last year but I’ve been blessed and honored to meet a few Squids when I was in NY.  *waves to SusanVillasLewis*

And of course the SquidTeam.  :)

I got to meet several Squids when I hosted the Meetup in L.A. last year, and Kim Giancaterino and I have met for coffee a few times since. She is as sweet in person as you would think by reading her lenses. :)

Just Megan and Gil in New York at the old HQ. No lensmasters though. :(

Are we going to hold another squidoo meet up day some time? I haven’t met any fellow squids yet.

Any other lensmasters in Sydney, Australia?

Beth821d came to my house last July 4th and we both went to Pendleton for Freedom Fest.  There, of course, we visited with Ohme, and Wednesday_Elf.
and also last year, Kate aka Mukunda22 came to our house and we went to Pendleton for the family reunion.
I will always treasure these special times with other lensmasters.   and yes, we are still in touch!  Meeting face to face adds another dimension to these internet relationships and makes them even more special!
I hope someday we can have a huge Squidoo meet up!  I’d love to meet everybody!

Must be really great to be able to talk out loud to folks without their eyes glazing over ‘cos they think it’s some kind of foreign language! Enjoy :-)

I don’t know any Squids in my area, but then I haven’t been looking. Having Meet Ups could be a great idea. Think I’ll send out some messages and see who is around. Best regards, Steve

I will always remember our Meet-up in  Pasadena, CA. We should do it again and bring some more L. A. lensmasters into the sphere.

I think it’s great to be able to meet up with other lensmasters.  It’s one thing to make friends online, but another to meet each other face to face.  I hope we can organise a meet up in the UK sometime.
