Lens Ideas for July
While we know the big things for July have to do with Independence Day, summer weather, and bored kids, there are plenty of unique and special holidays around which to build fun lenses.
Did you know July is National Hot Dog Month? And National Ice Cream Month? How can you not love months about food? (In fact there are a lot of foods celebrated in July, if that’s your thing.) That’s not all. What about Video Games Day on the 8th, or Hammock Day on the 22nd. Ooh, the wheels are turning.
Besides our favs are the stranger ones you might not be familiar with. Threading the Needle Day on the 26th? Work-a-Holics Day on the 5th? Here are just a few I’ve never even heard of:
July 1st: Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day
- flavors you wish existed
- have the kids make up their own concoctions
- try a new flavor you’ve never had
- make “impossible” flavors or rename your fav dips
July 4th: Sidewalk Egg Frying Day
- do a documentary on whether or not this really works
- egg recipes for picky eaters
July 11th: Cheer up the Lonely Day
- tips for keeping elderly/shut-ins company
- take the kids to a nursing home
- make cards for the grandparents and neighbors
July 20th: Ugly Truck Day
- before and after cleaning your car
- go mudding
- gush about your dream car
July 26th: Aunt and Uncle Day
- it’s about time they get some love! Send cards
- tell stories about your aunts and uncles when they were little (get mom and dad in on the gig)
Whether it’s one of these, a different holiday, or another exciting summer event, July is an awesome month for lenscrafting. What will you write about?
