Lens of the Day: My Vintage Doll Collection 1960s and 1970s

dollsLensmaster mel-kav had the forethought to do something many of us only wished we had done… she saved her beloved childhood toys.

Stop by today’s Lens of the Day, My Vintage Doll Collection 1960s and 1970s, where she takes us on a stroll down memory lane.

If you were a child of the 60′s or 70′s, you’ll probably see some familiar faces. If not, you’ll get a good look at what us girls treasured in the pre-video-game era.  Either way, I think you’ll find this lens an interesting and fun read.

Before you go, tell us, did you save any of your favorite childhood toys?

It’s unfortunate that I didn’t save any of my childhood toys, though I did save a few favorite books. I love that mel-kav shared her dolls in a lens!

My favorite toy was my Tiny Tears doll. This was in the 50′s. :)

I was a 40s and 50s child and I have numerous dolls of varying sizes, china, plastic and rag. One rag doll actually had belonged to my Dad. Two dolls have china heads and cloth bodies, the black one is called Dinah and the white one is called Rosebud. I was an only child so my dolls were my friends and we had lovely tea parties together, ….in a tent ….actually underneath the table which was covered by a large table cloth. We had to use our imagination a lot in those days!

I have moved so much that I have ended up with very few childhood items. I am glad that there are people like Mel-kav who not only save theirs, but share them with the rest of us. Congrats mel-kav on lens of the day!
