This isn’t meant to be a backhanded compliment, but here it comes…

It’s not annotated, and it’s not very fresh (Richardson is out, after all, and Gravel who?). But sometimes a lens stikes my fancy because it’s got a cool idea, on a newsy topic, and is cleverly executed.

Which is why I think “Books by Presidential Candidates” is worth checking out.

I mean, it’s fun to see all these titles in one place. (Of course, I wish we could vote on the best books among them. Or post our reviews on the ones we’ve read.) But still, part of me is inspired to buy them all and set up an ’08 election library. And do it again in 4 years. And again. And have this geeky little socio-political library to give to my grandkids some day.

Okay. Maybe I’ve been watching a little too much CNN. But if you don’t think I’m nuts, you might also like to check out my, ahem, “findings” about the political leanings of Squidoo as a whole.
