Tell us a little bit about your niche topic.
My niche topic is about cross stitching. It is a needlepoint stitch that crosses over each other that looks like an X. Each stitch is done uniform one way with the cross over stitch in the same direction. Patterns can be made by scratch where you count out all the stitches of the pattern or done on a stamped background. It is an easy stitch and patterns can be easy to intricate. If you don’t know how to cross stitch I hope I can help you learn. I will be giving tips on stitching and sharing patterns. I’m excited to be the Cross Stitch Contributor!
Tell us about the moment you fell in love with your topic. Was it an immediate thing or did it happen over time?
It was love at first sight with cross stitching. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to learn it. I was so taken with how easy it was. There were so many patterns to choose from that I was in heaven. My first cross stitch was of a Sew in Love precious moments pattern. The little girl is sewing a heart patch on the butt of the boy’s pants. From that time on I cross stitched to my heart’s content. I love to see the patterns come to life with each stitch.
Who had the most influence in your life?
I was greatly influence by a crafter friend who introduced me to the world of cross stitching. Our time together was special. We’d sit, talk and cross stitch. She showed me the ropes and to this day I am grateful for the friendship and time spent cross stitching together.
