How Did Our Newbies Find Us?

kimberlydawnwells by on Tue, Oct 4th, 2011

We love hearing stories about how our newest users are finding us. After nearly six years in business, we’re finding that new lensmasters find Squidoo through an amazing array of sources, including totally unexpected referrals and obscure sites we didn’t even know existed.

Learn how people are finding out about Squidoo. You might even discover a new market to target or a forum on which to promote your passions!

WheresTheKarma comes to Squidoo through “my friend Paul, who also does lenses and showed me how to get started.” Thanks Paul! We owe you one. Start off with a spooky lens: Want To Do Your Own Ghost Hunt?

Brian Kittrell is a speculative fiction (horror, fantasy, and science fiction) and young adult author and novelist. We speculate he found us through an SEO article on Squidoo, and started the lens Easily Format an eBook for Kindle and Nook in HTML.

When Jays23 isn’t Dealing with Kids’ Nightmares, she’s writing about education. “I learned about Squidoo from the great reviews from the internet. I wanted to write some blogs but I didn’t like the platform in blogger.” We think your content looks better on Squidoo too.

Like many lensmasters, GarciaGadget found us via Google. “I Googled a couple of things and noticed the quality of the lenses.” Quality! Score! He’s starting his own quality lens with Amazon’s Kindle Lineup.

“Being the ever industrious blogger that I am, I was perusing the contents of a “How To Promote Your Blog” website and came across Squidoo.” We’re glad you found us! Wegotkidz runs a blog and lens by the same name, at We Got Kidz!

We do love our crafty lensmasters. Jodiesme says, “I first heard about Squidoo on a forum in Etsy. Loved the name!” Yay for more Etsy-ers! Her first lens is Handmade Jewelry: Bits off the Beach.

Could it be that Squidoo is being studied in school? Lukecat says she found us “through an internet marketing and online PR course I am studying.” Exciting! This speech and drama teacher’s first lens is Oral Exercise Programmes for Children.
