What is your favorite holiday tradition?
The whole preparation for Christmas is so special, I love getting the Advent Wreath ready and the children’s Advent Calendars. It’s so much fun to see them just itching to open the next little box, to see what’s inside. The of course there is the gingerbread house. This year after many years of not making one, we are again building a house, this time for our grandchildren.
What’s your favorite holiday food?
I like food PERIOD! But I must say that I would rather have turkey leftovers, than turkey the day it is prepared. I guess it has to do with all the preparations, but, I would rather fill up on mashed potatoes and gravy with all the other added vegetables and of course dessert! Lots of cookies, cakes and gingerbread!
What do you love most about the season?
The Highlight for me has to be attending Church services and seeing the little children re-enacting the whole Christmas Story! There is always something really magical about that!
And there is the music, Christmas Music That Stirs the Soul.
What is your favorite childhood holiday memory?
I always loved Christmas, because it was the perfect time to get a new toboggan or skates. The day after Christmas, you’d be on the hill or at the rink trying out those new presents.
Are you dreaming of a white Christmas?
Well here it is sometimes a hit or a miss. I like a dusting of clean white on the morning of Christmas, but the older I get, the more I think it could melt the next day!
