Congratulations to our new charities!

This month we’ve added 10 new charity partners. These charities have an opportunity to use Squidoo as a way to generate excitement and donations for their organization.

You can donate all or part of your Squidoo royalties to any one of these new charities by selecting their name on the drop down box when you choose how you want to get paid.

This is a valuable innovation for Squidoo. But what will be helpful to know charities who engage in “community based” activities to strengthen “healthier communities” and communty spirit building. This is the reason I am focusing primarily on Community basd chartities here at our Northern Virginia Metro DC Community. Impersonal mass thinking mass methrod chartities thought many do good work also have had serious ethnics problemes recently, beside the serious issue of impersonal giving that is not affordable for small donors. Glad to see some new charities added (especially some animal welfare ones – I definitely want to research United Poultry Concerns more closely). I was hoping I’d be able to check these out at CharityNavigator.com but unfortunately they only have one listed so far (Healthy Child Healthy World) and only give it a 2/4 rating. I like to make sure that the charities I give my money to are really using it to the best of their abilities.

Healthy Child Healthy World is such a great organization! I’m so glad to see them on the list. They do research, advocacy and education work.

Hmmm. It looks like Healthy Child got a 2/4 rating because their annual revenue went down and because their website doesn’t have a link to their filed Form 990 (through which Charity Navigator would find answers to a number of other items, too). We should ask them to post a link to their Form 990.

That’s great news! I love the charity organizations within Squidoo.

I really do miss the Donation module, though! I built a lensography around the charities and can’t add new ones without the module.

I think all of Squidoo’s efforts are really wonderful. As for American charities I would love to see Camfed on here as I donate to them monthly and I believe them to be a great charity doing a lot of good in Africa.
And as Squidoo has lensmasters all over the world it would be wonderful to see you expand to a couple of charities in each country. I can think of 10 in Australia alone that I would nominate in a heartbeat and I’m sure lensmasters in other countries would feel the same.
Let Squidoo start a global donation revolution! And of course if I could help in any way to see this happen I am putting my hand up :-)

I’m so glad to see new charities. Keep up the great work! Maybe we can add a “Donate” button for our charities to collect extra for the causes! (If that’s already an option, I haven’t found it yet) This would make a great new module!

Please tell me that they are going to bring back the donations module!! I had started a lens for my own benefit of finding out what each charity was about and only got like 20 of them in. Plus, I love having the module in there showing with the picture of what a portion is being donated to as well.

I would like to see a Charities button as well. I see some great charities added. Thank you. Will want to add this fact to my lens as I am promoting locally too. Great plan.
